ELIGIBILITY
Candidates having Masters degree with First class in Bachelor’s or Master‟s degree in Physical Education in the relevant discipline
with minimum 60% aggregate marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or in PG for OC/OBC
category and 55% aggregate marks
with minimum 60% aggregate marks (CGPA 6.5/10) in UG or in PG for OC/OBC
category and 55% aggregate marks
or equivalent CGPA of 6.0 for SC/ST candidates.
A valid UGC/CSIR/NET/GATE score is mandatory for Institute fellowship.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The shortlisted candidates will be screened by written test and interview by the
Departmental Selection Committee. The list of candidates recommended by the
Departmental Selection Committee is sent to the Director for approval.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Selected candidates as approved by the Director will be offered to enroll to the Ph.D.
programme by remitting the prescribed fees. The candidate should also remit fees
every semester as prescribed by the institute failing which registration will be
cancelled.

Steps to apply online
1. Pay the application fee through SBI Collect.
Note: Candidates applying for more than one department should submit
separate application form for each department. However, a single registration
fee is sufficient.

2. Download and fill the application form very carefully and sign the declaration.
3. Paste a recent passport size photograph and self-attest.
4. Enclose necessary attachments
5. Enclose the application fee paid receipt.
6. Send the application form and enclosures by post and scanned copy to
examcell@nitpy.ac.in by mentioning subject as “PhD Application 2020”.

through SBI Collect, which is to be mentioned in the application form.
The filled up application form along with self-attested photocopies of marksheets,
degree certificates, community certificates, and the necessary enclosures in a
sealed cover superscribing with “PhD Application 2020” should reach „The
Associate Dean (Academic), National Institute of Technology Puducherry,
Thiruvettakudy, Karaikal –609 609’ on or before 15-06-2020.
